Hiraeth: The Memories We Hold

Since 2020, land prices throughout the Northeast have spiked as an exodus of affluent city residents have moved into rural communities and purchased farmland for second homes, airbnbs, and investment properties, causing a multitude of challenges for farmers and land stewards. Inspired by my own experience as a multi-generational farmer, Hiraeth is a traveling art exhibition featuring double-exposure oil paintings and audio recordings from interviews of farmers to create dialogue around farmland loss and support of farmers for the sake of our food system.
